Police set on fire 315 acres of weed seedlings

More than 315  acres of land with marijuana seedlings have been found and destroyed by police in Meru and Arusha-rural districts during a special operations to combat drug dealers in the region
The operation team was led by the Arusha Regional Police Commender (RPC) Liberatus Sabus which ended successful by setting ablaze of 130 hectares (315 acre) blooming with the weed.
“ We started operations in the notorious drug den of Kisimiri village and combed all other area to the entire Meru  precinct up to Mandet village where we also impounded 1020 bales of marijuana weighting  nearly  100 tones” Said RPC Sabus
He said the bales were found concealed in the caves and about 970 of them were burnt to ashes leaving only 43 of them as case exhibits following the arrest of seven suspect.
RPC Sabus named the suspect as Florah Joel mollel and Abell Daniel both from Kidefu village in Meru, Sainere Knyan, Merinyo Lenya, Julius Thadayo (said to be  a student) and his father Thadayo Marite all from olkokola village as well as Simba Muhidini of Chanika, Dar es salaam.
RPC Sabus thanks the community for their copparation during operation by helping to set on fire more than 3445 marijuana seedlings.
