Government
of Japan, through the scheme of Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human
Security Projects (GGHSP), has agreed to extend a grant aid of US$
192,700 (approximately 120 million Tshs) for the Construction of a
Two-storey Classroom Block at Enyoito Secondary School in Arusha
District, Arusha Region.
The
contract for the project has been signed by H.E. Mr. Masaki Okada,
Ambassador of Japan and the representative of the recipient secondary
school.
The
Government of Japan has been extending support to local communities in
various sectors including health, education and water supply under the
GGHSP scheme since 1991.
The
Signing Ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. Masaki Okada, Ambassador of
Japan to the United Republic of Tanzania, Honourable Mr. Goodluck J.
Ole-Medeye, Deputy Minister of Land, Housing and Human Settlements
Development, Honourable Mr. Godbless Lema, the member of parliament from
Arusha, Honourable Mr. Joshuwa Nasari, the member of parliament from
Meru and representatives of respective organisation.
On
that day, the performance of Japanese traditional drums was held as a
part of the friendship activities from Yamagata-Tanzania Friendship
Association, which was involved in the formation of this project.
